Home Decorating With Mr Christmas

The holiday season can be a stressful time for families. Some are trying to make ends meet, others may be adjusting their traditions due to pandemic restrictions, and still others might not feel like celebrating at all. Regardless of their reasons, many people are looking for help getting into the spirit of things this year. Enter home decorating with mr christmas, the Netflix series that features interior designer Benjamin Bradley (aka Mr. Christmas) giving families a festive design makeover.

A self-proclaimed “Christmas addict,” Bradley has been collecting Christmas decor for years. In 2018, he told the New York Times that his 3,000-piece collection included everything from Santa-themed jars and candy dishes to nodders (think: windup bobbleheads) and Dresden ornaments. He puts his encyclopedic knowledge of holiday items to use on the show, helping families create an enchanting winter wonderland.

In each episode, a family requests the help of the festive mr. Christmas to usher in the holiday spirit, which he happily agrees to do. In the end, the families will leave their homes with an overwhelming sense of sentimental glitz and glamor. However, the overabundance of glitz can also be off-putting, and most viewers will probably finish the four-episode series wondering what they just sat through for the past hour or so.

There are some positives about the show, though. It does seem to prefer DIY crafts over consumerist consumption, and it does teach viewers how to decorate their homes on a budget. The show also highlights the importance of celebrating diverse holidays, which is refreshing in a world where so much seasonal media only talks about Christmas and Hanukkah.

The show also highlights the struggles of some people, particularly those who live in rural areas and are trying to get into the holiday spirit without access to stores or other decorations. It also shows the importance of spending quality time with loved ones, which is something we could all use a little more of in our lives.

With so much on the line for many families this year, a heartfelt message of peace and joy is what many will need to get them through the season. As a result, home decorating with mr christmas is a feel-good binge that will put everyone in the holiday mood. We talked to the host, who also happens to be an expert on all things Christmas, to learn more about the show and get some of his tips for getting into the spirit of the season.
